Healthy Implants – The importance of maintenance and good plaque control

The prevalence of periimplant diseases seems to be growing. As there are no established and predictable concepts for the treatment of peri-implantitis, primary prevention is of key importance.
Patients who are rehabilitated with dental implants need to be given proper oral hygiene instructions and the prosthetic constructions need to allow accessibility for oral hygiene around implants. Peri-implant maintenance is of uttermost importance for success.
